CIS Observation Mission believes that the elections in Armenia proceed in
accordance with the existing legislation

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian President Robert Kocharian received
in Yerevan today the Secretary General of CIS Aleksandr Lebedev,
who heads the Observation Mission of the CIS during the presidential
elections in Armenia.

As Mediamax was told in the press service of the Armenian President,
Aleksandr Lebedev stated during the meeting that the CIS Mission
carries out observation all throughout Armenia, the observers were
present in various polling stations, talked with the members of
electoral commission and the proxies of the candidates.

According to the assessment of the CIS Secretary General, the elections
proceed in accordance with the existing legislation.

The authorities are determined to hold normal elections and have
taken up all the necessary steps for that, Robert Kocharian stated.

The sides expressed confidence that the elections will process in a
calm atmosphere and without incidents.
