Several citizens of Turkey with Kurdish descent, who represent PKK
continue to claim that soldiers and officers of the Armed force of
Azerbaijan are involved in the military operations of the Turkish Army
in the Northern Iraq. According to our information, Azeri military
personal are involved in combat operation in the Turkish military
uniform. The silence from the Azerbaijani side enabled PKK members to
provide new information in which again it is confirmed that Azerbaijani
military are involved in the operations of the Turkish army in the
Northern Iraq. According to those sources circa 80-100 Azerbaijani
soldiers and officers are currently on the Iraqi territories and
contiguous territories and at he moment Azeri forces have loses;
one soldiers was killed, two other are wounded and one is missing.
Couple of days ago in several Azerbaijani mass media again information
appeared after the short pause about the allegations on the presence of
PKK military bases in NKR and liberated territories. Particularly with
several statements appeared Speaker of Azerbaijani ministry of Foreign
affairs, military analytics and Azeri news agencies referred to Israeli
intelligence to confirm this information. In fact new referrences to
the Kurdish topic in Azerbaijan indirectly confirm the information
on the Azerbaijani military presence in the Northern Iraqi territories.
The reliability of this information provided by the several
representatives of the PKK is confirmed by the fact that in the
framework of the military cooperation agreement signed between Turkey
and Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani military personal are actively involved
in the combat operations of the Turkish Armed forces against the PKK
militants and also are present on the territory of the Northern Cyprus
occupied by Turkish army since 1974.
It should be noted that the presence of PKK combatants on Azerbaijani
soil and in the outskirts of Baku several times became a cause for
diplomatic scandals and demarches between Turkey and Azerbaijan,
after Turkish intelligence and military presented bold evidences on
this matter.
