"AUTHORITIES IMPLEMENT POLITICAL TERRORISM," SPOKESPERSON OF LEVON TER-PETROSIAN DECLARES

ARMAN MUSINIAN, FEBRUARY 26, NOYAN TAPAN. The authorities are
implementing a political terrorism towards the supporters of Levon
Ter-Petrosian. This statement was made by Arman Musinian, the
Spokesperson of the former candidate, at the press conference held
on February 26. Thus, according to him, the authorities are trying
to isolate the leaders of the people’s movement and destroy the brain
of the movement.

Arman Musinian mentioned that in the morning of the same day Garnik
Margarian, the Chairman of the Homeland and Honor party, Samvel
Haroutiunian, the former mayor of Goris, and Khachik Simonian, the head
of the pre-electoral headquarters of Levon Ter-Petrosian in Yeghvard,
were detained. At this moment police collaborators have enclosed and
are trying to break into the house of Gurgen Yeghiazarian.

According to Arman Musinian, Suren Sureniants, a member of the
political board of the Republic party, who was detained in the evening
on the previous day, was kidnapped by police collaborators from the
vicinity of the very Freedom squre. The car of Khachatur Sukiasian,
an MP of the RA National Assembly, was illegally searched on the
same day, where legal weapon and armoured jacket were found, which
"every person has right to carry for self-defence purposes." He also
mentioned that all the weapons confiscated from those detained up to
now have been legal.

Arman Musinian stated that no medical control is provided for 11
people on a hunger strike on the Freedom square by the municipality,
which is violating the human rights, motivating that by the lack of
ambulance cars.

Accoring to Arman Musinian, the team of Levon Ter-Petrosian has never
made legal violations, it has never instigated clashes. "Our struggle
against the authorities is political and legal, we will make use of
all the opportunities given by law," he declared.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
