In Karabakh everyone tracks the events in Armenia. They naturally
track them on the Public Television of Armenia. The programs of this
channel usually send them into a panic.

"We must leave. As soon as Levon comes, we’ll have nothing to do
here. And we shouldn’t leave via Yerevan."

"Why does Levon have those drug addicts rise? There are no normal
people there, normal people would not follow Levon. I am afraid the
government will use force and innocent people will suffer."

"Did you hear how much weapon they found? It’s good they arrested
those businessmen. Again they want to spoil everything. We don’t need
another war, more fight. A bad government is better than fight. My
son is in the army."

"What good things can Levon bring about? He has already stated that
as soon as he comes to power, he will give away Karabakh. He will
set up good relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan. Do we need good
relations? If it’s so good, why didn’t Kocharyan do that?"

"I can’t understand, we won the war when Levon was president, now
they say he wants to give away Karabakh."

"Only one thing worries me – the fate of Karabakh. Even if Serge
Sargsyan is a bad president, he promises to keep Karabakh, I am for
him. But he has already said that Aghdam is not Armenian land. If
Levon says he will not give away Karabakh, let him be president. So far
none of them has stated it. Frankly speaking, I started to doubt that
something is wrong when Yerkrapah supported Levon. These guys fought
in the war, they cannot be for returning Karabakh. I don’t know."

"I think the problem is Haylur. They are biased. I track the news
through the Internet and the impression is that the journalists of
Haylur and the Internet news live and work in different countries. My
friends go to the rallies and they tell me on the phone what is
happening there. They say the intelligentsia goes to the rallies,
professors, students. While Haylur reports that there are only drug
addicts and tramps. It is not fair toward people," the student says.

"I think the problem is the railway. I track all information and
I noticed that recently they have been discussing the railway. As
far as I understand, the problem is that the Americans want the
railway to pass via Armenia. The Turks want to build a new railway
Kars-Akhalkalaki. I looked at the map yesterday, there is already
one from Baku to Turkey via Gyumri. I think now the issue of this
railway is under consideration. Levon agreed to allow shipment of
goods from Azerbaijan to Turkey via Gyumri. Therefore the Americans
support him. If Levon agrees to open the border, it may be very bad
for us because our demography is in a poor state. If they do not open
the border, only the route, it would be profitable."

"The stance of Karabakh may have an important role. Now our
government is silent, although they have already congratulated
Serge Sargsyan. They do not interfere, they do not criticize Levon,
and it’s right. There are already rumors in Yerevan that they bring
soldiers from Karabakh, they stop the cars driving from Karabakh to
Yerevan. Why do they stop them?"

"Maybe we also should hold a rally in support of Levon. I read today
that a big rally was held in Los Angeles today. It is not a popular
movement, it is already a national movement?"

"How will all this end?"

From: Emil Lazarian | Ararat NewsPress

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
