/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "There is an impression that the quality of
the presidential election has become a topic of hot debate," OSCE
Parliamentary Assembly President Goran Lennmarker

The OSCE PA and OSCE/ODIHR were unanimous on the preliminary report
on the election process. A final report that will embrace the
post-election situation in the republic will be issued later," he
said. "As to the arrests, I was told that those people were detained
for storage of weapons. I can’t say whether it’s true or not. It’s
a bit hard for a foreigner to make assessments in such cases."

Mr Lennmarker voiced hope that the crises will be resolved
peacefully. "Some opposition parties informed me that they will
address to the Constitutional Court and submit to its decision,"
he said, adding that OSCE PA will not issue a separate report on
Armenia’s presidential election but will build its assessment on the
basis of the OSCE/ODIHR statement due in mid-April, FRE/RL reports.

On February 20, the International Observation Mission said that the
presidential election in Armenia "was conducted mostly in line with
the country’s international commitments."
