MISSILE WARNING RADAR TESTED IN NORTHWESTERN RUSSIA

Moscow, 28 February: Spetsstroy of Russia [Federal Agency for Special
Construction] has completed work at the radar facility in the village
of Lekhtusi in Leningrad Region to transfer the missile warning
facility to test combat duty, the agency’s director, Army Gen Nikolay
Abroskin, has told an expanded meeting of the agency board today.

The Federal Agency for Special Construction handles the development
of particularly important state facilities.

"The work to transfer the system to test combat duty has been completed
at the radar facility in Lekhtusi. In addition, work to build a radar
facility in Armavir [in Armenia] was continued in 2007: foundations
have been built and the installation of a radar antenna is under way,"
Abroskin said.
