IDENTITIES OF 5 OUT OF 8 PEOPLE WHO DIED DURING DISPERSAL OF RALLY
ESTABLISHED
YEREVAN, MARCH 2, NOYAN TAPAN. 8 people died during a clash as a
result of not obeying the requirements of the state of emeregency,
which was declared in Yerevan under the presidential decree of March
1, 2008, and offering resistance to the police by the participants of
the rally organized, in violation of the order envisaged by law, by
the RA presidential candidate Levon Ter-Petrosian and his supporters
early in the morning of March 2.
As a result of measures taken by the operative investigation group
composed of investigators and employees of the RA Special Investigation
Service, the National Security Service, police and tax bodies, so
far the identities of 5 victims: Gor Kloyan, Hamlet Tadevosian, Davit
Petrosian, Zakar Saribek Hovhannisian, Ruben Vanik Torosian have been
established. The identities of the other victims are being specified,
measures are being taken to reveal the circumstances of their death
and the disorders in the city.
Over 20 units of real estate and movable property have been damaged
as a result of disorders.
The RA prosecutor general’s office will provide more information about
the results of the measures taken by the operative investigation group.
