"It is more than fact that the recent activities were well
organized. We have a good deal of proves that quite different orders
were given from the meeting place and after it," said Aghvan Hovsepyan,
the RA chief prosecutor. He held a press conference and talked about
the disorder and illegality stipulated by the oppositions.

According to the chief prosecutor, some participants of the meetings
said that they came there for the robberies. They even said that
the organizers promised some shops and ministry chairs. The chief
prosecutor did not say in detail who was promised and what positions
were promised. He said that it will be obvious after the preliminary
investigation.

To a journalist’s request whether Levon Ter-Petrosyan may be accused
also, as it was announced that all the organizers should answer for
their steps, he answered that it was not yet decided, and probably
it should be concluded after the investigation.

The chief prosecutor also rejected the rumors that there are a lot
of dead and lost people. He said that there are no cases on them. He
advised that if someone knows something about lost people, then they
should refer to him personally. He said that due to the professional
work of police and armed forces, they managed to escape even worse
results.

One of the journalists asked whether the police station could name
those who left the country just at that night. The chief prosecutor
answered that he was not before informed, and that they need to
check it.

But one thing was obvious that nobody will succeed to escape answering
before the law.

Hovsepyan commented on the intermediation steps of depriving four
deputies from their rights of inviolability, he said that there were
enough proves to come to that decision. He mentioned that two of them
still try to escape the police.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
