/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The state of emergency has not been violated
in Yerevan by March 6, colonel general Seyran Ohanyan told a news
conference in Yerevan. The rule is observed both by the army and the
society, according to him.

Speaking of the role of media, Ohanyan said, "Media serves as a bridge
between the armed forces and the public."

The 20-day state of emergency was imposed by Armenian President
Robert Kocharian after the rallies organized by former President
Levon Ter-Petrosyan had grown into disorders and clashes with police.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
