SERZH SARKISIAN REFUTED THE RUMORS, ACCORDING TO WHICH THE AUTHORITIES ARE PLANNING TO DETAIN THE EX-PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Prime Minister, Armenian President-Elect Serzh
Sarkisian refuted today the rumors, according to which the authorities
are planning to detain Ex-President Levon Ter-Petrosian.
Mediamax reports that Serzh Sarkisian said this today at the meeting
with students of Armenian State University of Economics. According to
him, "those rumors do not correspond to the reality". At the same time,
the President-Elect stated, he considers also wrong the suppositions,
according to which Armenian authorities "will not take the risk"
to arrest the Ex-President.
According to Serzh Sarkisian, a transparent court trial will be
realized concerning the organizers of mass unrest in Yerevan on March 1
and 2, for everyone to know the level of blame of this or that person.
At that he stated that "Levon Ter-Petrosian’s fate will be decided
upon by the people, since besides the legal one, historical and moral
responsibilities also exist".
