Ilgar Mukhtarov, temporary plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan in Mexico
delivered a speech before the students of the Faculty of International
Relations of the Pueblo University on Azerbaijan and Regional Security.
The due announcement was made by a source from Azerbaijan’s diplomatic
representation in Mexico.
In his speech, Mukhtarov informed about Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring
regional security in the Caucasus and about our country’s role in
this issue.
Moreover the representative of Azerbaijan spoke of the
Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and our country’s
contribution to energy security of Europe and Caspian region.
The conference participants also informed about the participation
of Azerbaijani peacekeeping forces in the coalition forces in Iraq
and Afghanistan, Azerbaijan’s attitude to recognition of Kosovo’s
independence.
A documentary on Khohaly ("The Terminated City), shot by LiderTV,
which impressed the students and teaching staff of the University
greatly, was demonstrated at the end.
Iy should be noted that Azerbaijan’s diplomatic representation has
been functioning in Mexico since January of this year.
