/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "There is no link between the Kosovo crisis
and aggravation of the situation in Karabakh, said Matthew Bryza,
U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian
Affairs.

"We have fundamental policy and goals. We support the territorial
integrity of Azerbaijan and state that Nagrono Karabakh’s status is
negotiable. We regret violation of armistice. We call on both sides
to observe ceasefire and keep the troops at some distance from the
dividing line. No one should try to derive profit from the tragic
incident," he said.

The mediator noted that Serzh Sargsyan and Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s
approaches to the Karabakh problem differ.

"The OSCE Minsk Group has never worked so hard to develop new
proposals. The package at the table differs from all what was proposed
earlier. That is why there is no need to compare it to the programs
put forth under Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharian or Heydar Aliyev
in 2001," Mr Bryza said.

"Today’s proposals provide for return of Azerbaijani territories and
return of refugees. It covers the corridor linking Nagorno Karabakh
with Armenia and deployment of international peacekeepers. All these
proposals will underlie a peaceful agreement for the glory of the
region. These proposals are unique and fundamental and should be
implemented," he said, VOA News reports.
