A resolution condemning Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan was
adopted in the eleventh summit of the Organization of the Islamic
Conference held in Dakar, Senegal, on March 13-14.
The Member States expressed profound concern over continued
occupation of significant part of the territories of Azerbaijan
and illegal transfer of the settlers of the Armenian nationality to
those territories, calls on the UN Security Council to recognize the
existence of aggression against the Republic of Azerbaijan and take
necessary steps against Armenia.
Expressing grave concern over the severity of humanitarian problems
regarding the existence of more than one million displaced persons, the
Resolution requests the OIC Member States, the Islamic Development Bank
and other Islamic Institutions to render financial and humanitarian
assistance to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The resolution condemns destruction of the archeological, cultural
and religious monuments in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan,
strongly demands strict implementation of the UN Security Council
Resolutions (822, 853, 874, 884) on the immediate, unconditional
and complete withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from all occupied
Azerbaijani territories including the Nagorno Karabakh region and
urges Armenia to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity of
the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Resolution calls on Member States, as well as other members of
the international community to use effective political and economic
measures to put an end to Armenian aggression and occupation of
Azerbaijani territories.
