FOUR PARLIAMENTARY FORCES SIGN A COALITION AGREEMENT

A quadrilateral Coaltion Agreement was signed at RA Governemnt
today. The document was signed by President of the Republican Party of
Armenia Serge Sargsyan, President of the Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik
Tsarukyan, President of the Orinats Yerkir Party Arthur Baghdasaryan
and representative of the Supreme Body of ARF Dashnaktsutyun Armen
Rustamyam, Information and public elations Department of RA Government
informed.
Taking as a basis the results of the presidential elections of February
19, 2008, pursuing the aim to guarantee the development of the Republic
of Armenia, establishment of an atmosphere of social partnership
and conformity inside the society, four parties represented in the
National Assembly as a result of the parliamentary elections of May
12 (hereafter parties to the political coalition) create a political
coalition for the sake of
â~@¢ Forming an effectively working authority enjoying the support
of the majority of the society;
â~@¢ Deepening the democratic reforms and improving the mechanisms
of human rights protection;
â~@¢ Working out and implementing a joint Government program through
combination of their pre-election platforms;
â~@¢ Stable and continuous development of the previous achievements,
considerable improvement of the quality of our citizens’ life,
implementation of daring and realistic reforms;
â~@¢ Effective resistance to the internal and external challenges
the Republic of Armenia faces.
The parties to the political coalition confirm their will and
resoluteness to fulfill the objectives of the coalition and assume
political responsibility for the activity of the authorities.
The parties to the political coalition undertake to make every
effort for the effective implementation of programs of the coalition
government, not to take steps that can directly or indirectly endanger
the accomplishment of the aims of the coalition government.
The agreement comes into force from the moment of signing and will
work throughout the term of liabilities of the National Assembly
of 4th convocation. The agreement can be terminated ahead of time
in case of existence of insurmountable fundamental disagreements,
upon the declaration of one of the parties it based on an agreement
between the parties.
