Kasparov says not invited to Moscow meeting with Rice
Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Moscow (AP): Opposition leader Garry Kasparov says he was not invited to a
meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and prominent
Russians outside the government.
Rice held the breakfast meeting on Tuesday before talks with her Russian
counterpart and the two countries’ defense chiefs, aimed to bridge deep
differences over U.S. missile-defense plans and other issues.
At least two opposition politicians were there, but some of President
Vladimir Putin’s most vocal critics were not.
Kasparov told The Associated Press he and others in his coalition were not
invited. He says Rice did not meet with people who are actively working to
unite Russia’s opposition.
Kasparov has urged the United States to be more critical of the Putin
administration.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
