Rector of Karabakh university returned from Oxford

On March 28 the rector of Mesrop Mashtots University Donara Gabrielyan
held a news conference after returning from Oxford where she
participated in the summit of leaders on development of Eurasian
economic integration organized by the European Business Assembly.
According to Donara Gabrielyan, the participants from Karabakh were
mostly interested in the debates on the high school in the context of
preparation of top managers for small and medium-sized businesses. The
establishment of specialized corporative educational centers, exchange
of scientific programs, internship was discussed.
From May of last year Donara Gabrielyan is a member of the club of
rectors of Europe which enables to set up contacts with colleagues from
different countries. There were about 120 participants from different
countries of world, representatives of science and business, as well as
governmental and non-governmental organizations. Donara Gabrielyan says
those contacts may facilitate our governmental and business structures
to integrate with the European system of business. For instance, the
rector of the university said in such summits projects are presented,
and as a result businessmen may make investments in one country or
another. She gave the example of successful cooperation in Malta.
Donara Gabrielyan also told that Mesrop Mashtots University got the
Socrates international award. Mesrop Mashtots was the only Armenian
university participating in the summit. The Armenian business was
represented by the Grand Tobacco company. According to Donara
Gabrielyan, a lot of useful contacts were set up thanks to which the
students and teachers of the university may have a chance to get
internship in European universities, namely in Spain. In this
connection, she said it is necessary to review our teaching methods to
meet modern challenges.
Donara Gabrielyan also told about the project of protection of the
right of the humanity for drinking water in which besides the
representatives of the university the representatives of the government
of Karabakh will also participate. During the news conference a film
about the European Business Assembly, the club of rectors of Europe and
the Summit in Oxford was demonstrated.
