Baku. Ulviyya Aliyeva-APA. "Any reconstruction works are out of
discussion in the territory that has been occupied by force and the
people of which have been driven out", said Deputy Foreign Minister
Araz Azimov, whilst taking a stance on the reconstruction works in
the Armenian-occupied Lachin Region of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
"Azerbaijan is aware of the developments in the occupied territories.
These are already known facts. Azerbaijan also supports the
reconstruction works in Nagorno Karabakh. But it is possible only
after the settlement of the conflict", he said.
Commenting on Robert Kocharian’s statement "Armenia will recognize
Nagorno Karabakh’s independence" Araz Azimov said official Baku
would give a legal answer to such illegal actions. The Deputy Foreign
Minister said all the sides involved in the process of settlement of
the conflict supported peaceful solution of the problem. Araz Azimov
said Azerbaijan did not cast doubt on the status of OSCE Minsk Group
and was committed to the format.
"But we do not agree that OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries
regard their voting against the resolution as an unbiased step. This
is a biased assessment", he said.
