KARABAKH TELECOM TO EXPAND CHARITABLE PROGRAMS BY INCRESING THEIR AMOUNT TO 500 MILLION DRAMS

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 1, NOYAN TAPAN. The president of the Nagorno
Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakian on March 29 received representatives
of the Tufenkian Founadation headed by the fondation’s chairman
James Tufenkian. A wide range of issues related to the programs
implemented and to be implemented by the foundation were discussed at
the meeting. Special attention was paid to the problems of a modern
hotel complex construction, which is envisaged to start in Stepanakert.
NT was informed by the NKR presidential staff’s main department of
information that on the same day B. Sahakian received the director
general of Karabakh Telecom company Ralph Yirikian. During the meeting,
the interlocutors discussed the developments taking place in the
republic’s communication sector, in particular, issues related to
digitalization and extension of the mobile phone communication network.
B. Sahakian attached great importance to the work done by Karabakh
Telecom, saying that it represents one of the best examples of
combination of investment and charitable programs.
In the words of R. Yirikian, Karabakh Telecom will considerably
expand the charitable programs implemented in Artsakh, increasing
their amount to 500 mln drams (about 1.6 mln USD). The health care
sector will be in the center of attention.
