YEREVAN MADE NO APPEAL

Presidential Press Secretary Victor Soghomonyan said, "Official
Yerevan has made no appeal to Baku."

Victor Soghomonyan said this at the request of MEDIAMAX agency
commenting on the announcement made by the Head of the Foreign Affairs
Department of Azerbaijani Presidential staff Novruz Mamediarov
saying that: "Armenia must introduce the substantiations on the
meeting between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia and that
"the arrangement of similar meeting is firstly directed to the
strengthening of the internal positions of Armenian President".

"The announcement made by Mamediarov hints as if official Armenia has
appealed to him to hold similar meeting. We haven’t asked to arrange
this meeting, though we are ready to continue the dialogue. It is clear
that the proposal to arrange a meeting between Armenian President elect
Serge Sargsyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev during the NATO
Summit to be hold in Bucharest has been made by the co-Chairs. If Baku
is refusing this meeting, then this is their problem. There is no need
to hide the deconstructive approaches by Mamediarov’s epochal ideas,"
Presidential Press Secretary announced.
