HIS HOLINESS ARAM I PARTICIPATES IN THE INTERNATIONAL
INTERFAITH CONFERENCE IN BARCELONA
His Holiness Aram I will take part in the international interfaith
conference in Barcelona, Spain over the next few days. He is joined by the
Catholicosate of Cilicia’s Communication’s Officer, V Rev. Fr. Krikor
Chiftjian, and the deputy chairwoman of the Catholicosate’s Ecumenical
Committee, Mrs. Teni-Piri Simonian.
The conference will be a gathering place for high-profile officials from
several religions, including the former President of the Islamic Republic of
Iran Mohammed Khatemi, the former General Secretary of the United Nations
Kofi Annan and the President of UNESCO. The conference will adopt a
statement on peace and justice and the role of religion in the current
world.
