NA Speaker Met With The Ambassador Of Serbia

NA SPEAKER MET WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF SERBIA

On April 8 Speaker of RA National assembly Tigran Torosyan received
the Ambassador for the Republic of Serbia Liliana Bacevich, who
arrived in Armenia to participate in the inauguration ceremony of
RA President-Elect.

Greeting the guest, Tigran Torosyan expressed appreciation that the
representative of a friendly country and nation will participate
in an important event for our country and qualified her visit as
a good opportunity to discuss the perspectives of development of
relations. Mr. Torosyan expressed hope that the expected visit of
the Serbian President to Armenia in 2008 will become an important
impetus on the way of development of interstate relations.

Ambassador Liliana Bacevich noted that she has the honour to represent
her country at RA President’s inauguration ceremony. She turned to the
difficulties the state and people of Serbia have to resist connected
with the independence of Kosovo

Mrs. Bacevich noted that Serbia and Armenia have traditionally been
friendly countries and have a rich experience of cooperation within
international organizations and mutual assistance.

NA Speaker wished success to the Serbian people in the forthcoming
parliamentary elections and solving the problems the country
faces. Thanking Tigran Torosyan, Ambassador Liliana Bacevich assured
she will do her best within the limits of her authority to contribute
to the development of interparliamentary ties and wished success to
Armenia and the Armenian people.
