AMBASSADOR OF SERBIA REGRETED ON VOTING FOR AZERBAIJAN’S ARTICLE

Today the chairman of the NA Tigran Torosyan received the Ambassador
of Serbia Liliana Bachevich who arrived in Armenia to take part in
oath giving ceremony of the president. The information is available
on the NA official web site.

T. Torosyan evaluated her visit as a good chance to use for
strengthening the inter-state relations of Armenia and Serbia. He
said that, unfortunately, since the last meeting there have not been
taken any serious steps for the development of the relationship and
expressed his hope that the visit of Serbia’s president in 2008 will
serve another chance to use.

The NA chairman mentioned that Armenia was really surprised to
find out that Serbia had voted for the article of the NK regulation
presented by Azerbaijan to the UN. He reminded that Armenia and Serbia
have always been trying to contribute to the process the Kosovo and
Artsakh questions.

The Ambassador notified the problems which should be overcome by the
people of Serbia and Kosovo. And that the last eight years were not
so easy for Serbs and the local and the foreign problems disrupted
the nation.

The Ambassador mentioned that traditionally Serbia and Armenia have
always been friend countries and had a rich experience in cooperation
and dealing in the international organizations. As for the UN incident
and the voting of her country for the article, she said that she was
seriously surprised by it.
