With The Appetite Of Repeating "March 1"

Yesterday at 2.00 p.m. Ter-Petrosyan’s supporters and activists, as
they have already promised gathered in front of Myasnikyan’s statue
to observe the forty days of the victims of "March 1" tragic events.

Of course it is very difficult to call this gathering a "mourning
ceremony", it was more like a meeting without orators. Such type
of ceremonies must be quiet; those who want to pay tribute to the
victims usually put flowers on the certain place and leave silently.

But the activists who were missing their meetings used their chance
to capture the territory and stayed there for around one and a half
hour. You can ask: "What were they doing there?" Every ten minutes,
with their fists up shouting: "Le-von President", "Free-dom", and
"Struggle, struggle to the end".

And this was not enough, furious, because of the presence
of the police, whistling all the time. Maybe we really don’t
understand…Maybe this is the way aggressive revolutionaries "mourn"
the death of the victims – with abuses and blasphemies.

If those gathered in front of Myasnikyan statue were only shouting
with their fists up, a group of other activists heaped reproach on the
police observing social order. This group of activists was demanding
the police to close the streets and not to allow the cars move by
that street and trouble the participants of the meeting. Meanwhile
they attacked the cars, reproaching the drivers and the pedestrians:
"why don’t you joint us can’t you see that we are struggling for you",
this is how the mournful were shouting after the cars.

Because the police closed the "stage" the demonstrators spread along
the street thus paralyzing the traffic, for around one and a half
hour they created a traffic jam in this part of the city.

Davit Shahnazaryan, Levon Zurabyan, LTP’s Press Secretary Arman
Musinyan, former Foreign Minister Vahan Papazyan, and other members
of Armenian Pan National Movement were next to the participants of the
"spontaneous" demonstration.

Defense lawyer, staff-member of Armenian Pan National Movement Vardan
Harutyunyan, Leader of Hnchakyan "Sargis Tkhruni" Students’ Union
Narek Galstyan and Leader of the people’s Patry Stepan Demirchyan were
also next to their teammates. So, in reality, there were orators,
but alas they couldn’t reach the "stage". The mournful met Stepan
Demirchyan with a round of applause.

The activists of Armenian Pan National Movement, inspired from the
active participation of the mournful were following the process of
the demonstration with happy looks, meanwhile, with their mobiles on
their ears reporting the boss about the situation.

Davit Shahnazaryan’s eyes were shining from happiness; he was
frequently giving the details of what was going on, with his mobile
phone, though the revolutionary women with their yell and blasphemies
in the address of the authorities were not allowing him to speak
properly, with his boss.

It was impossible to disconnect, because besides paying tribute to the
victims the activists of the demonstration were waiting for LTP. At
the beginning of the demonstration there were rumors that LTP was
also going to participate in it. But he didn’t come into sight.

After "mourning" for one and a half hour the activists left the
territory. Before that they managed to inform one another about
gathering as one in the Republic Square at 20.00 p.m.

As we know when it gets dark these people become more furious and
start their work.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
