ARMENIAN DELEGATION LEAVES FOR STRASBURG
Tomorrow Armenian Parliamentary delegation leaves for Strasburg to
take part in the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly which is
scheduled on April 14-18. According to Anahit Adamyan, the NA press
secretary, the delegation is headed by the president of the NA state
judiciary questions permanent committee and Deputy David Harutyunyan,
the members of the delegation are Avet Adonts (Prosperous Armenia),
Raffi Hovhannisyan (Heritage), Hermine Naghdalyan (Republican) Mher
Shahgeldyan (Country of Laws) and Armen Rustamyan (ARF).
According to the official web site of the Council of Europe on 14
April the following items will be discussed: the presidential
elections of Armenia, Serbia, Russia, Chernogoria and the
parliamentary elections of Monaco. Jus the same day the speech of the
president of Slovak Country is scheduled.
On 15 April Election of judges to the European Court of Human Rights
will be held, as well as European Muslim communities confronted with
extremism, after Mr Thomas HAMMARBERG, Council of Europe Commissioner
for Human Rights, Mrs Angela MERKEL, Federal Chancellor of Germany and
Mr Ján KUBI?, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Slovak
Republic will make an annual report.
On April 16 the Election of judges to the European Court of Human
Rights will be continued. The agenda covers the speech of Mrs Yulia
Tymoshenko, Prime Minister of Ukraine, on access to safe and legal
abortion in Europe and child and teenage suicide in Europe.
On 17 April Mr Bernard KOUCHNER, Minister of Foreign and European
Affairs of France will make a speech. The questions of promoting the
teaching of European literature, the situation of national minorities
in Serbia will be covered. In the last day, on 18 April the
participants will make speeches on sustainable development and tourism
and immigration from sub-Saharan Africa.
