DEATH TOLL IN ARMENIA’S POSTELECTION VIOLENCE RISES TO 10

YEREVAN, Armenia: An Armenian Health Ministry official says the death
toll in the nation’s postelection violence in March has reached 10.

The official said Monday that 27-year-old Samvel Arutunyan died
Friday. He had been in intensive care with head injuries sustained
during clashes between police and demonstrators in the Armenian
capital on March 1.

The demonstrators were protesting alleged fraud in the Feb. 19
presidential election.
