IGITIAN MEETS WITH TERRY DAVIS

On April 11 the head of the Avan pre-election headquarters for Levon
Ter-Petrossian, member of the board of the Pan-Armenian Party (HHSh)
Hovhannes Igitian met with the PACE Secretary General Terry Davis
in Strasbourg.

During the meeting Hovhannes Igitian drew the Secretary General’s
attention to the continuing political prosecution of the opposition,
noting that today Ter-Petrossian’s supporters are arrested for
political dissent. He also said that constitutional rights of citizens
to hold and participate in peaceful rallies, demonstrations and
marches are restricted, the Center for the Popular Movement reports.
