ON INITIATIVE OF WRITERS’ UNION OF ARMENIA, TRADITIONAL GATHERING OF YOUNG WRITERS TO BE HELD IN ARTSAKH ON MAY 22-26

YEREVAN, APRIL 15, NOYAN TAPAN. Like every year, this year as well
numerous events will be held on the initiative of the Writers’ Union
of Armenia. In particular, according to the information provided to
a Noyan Tapan correspondent by Levon Ananian, the Chairman of the
Writers’ Union of Armenia, the traditional gathering of young writers
will be held in Artsakh on May 22-26, and a festival of Armenian
Poetry will take place in Georgia on May 24-30.

According to Levon Ananian, within the framerworks of the festival
Armenian and Georgian writers will take part in the events dedicated to
the 100th anniversary of the "Vernatun" founded by Hovhannes Tumanian
in Tbilisi, as well as in the annual Vardaton dedicated to the memory
of Sayat-Nova to be held in the St. Gevorg Armenian church. It was
also mentioned that the "Anthology of Modern Armenian Poetry" will
be published in Georgian in Tbilisi at that time.

In the words of the Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Armenia, most
of the events will mainly be organized in autumn. The Union will
celebrate the jubilees of a number of writers with a great solemnity,
including the 100th anniversary of William Saroyan and the 150th
anniversary of Alexander Shirvanzade.
