ARKA
April 16, 2008

YEREVAN, April 16. /ARKA/. Consumer awareness in a topical issue
in Armenia, Chairman of the Protection of Consumer Rights NGO Abgar
Yegoyan said at the Consumer Priorities conference.

He believes as a result of lack of information, consumers often buy
low quality goods.

He pointed out that consumers have a right to demand in court
compensation for defective goods even after years have passed since
the day of their purchase.

Yegoyan was happy that local consumers are getting more interested
in the quality of goods and services. The NGO has received about 250
claims on the quality of goods since early 2008, the Chairman said.

Yegoyan called on local entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs to focus on
the consumer rights protection in their marketing policy, instead of
spending large sums on ads.

Leading European companies, including SENATOR, DURABLE, EDDING,
RAPID и KORES, participated in the conference

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
