AGHVERAN, APRIL 21, ARMENPRESS: "Implementation of Energy-Efficiency
Programs" training program kicked off today in Aghveran with the
participation of representatives of companies providing energy
services, associations of such companies.

U.S. expert Larry Good, who is conducting the training, said that it
will give the participants an opportunity to acquire or expand their
knowledge in developing and carrying out such programs.

According to him, the main goal of the initiative is to lead and
guide the work of the companies providing energy efficiency services
bringing them to new approaches and methods.

The first step in that direction, he said, is to train and teach the
companies. It is also necessary to conduct classes for bank officials
and customers for increasing their awareness.

During the classes the participants will be presented the general
structure of the energy-efficiency programs, the international
experience of the increase of risks connected with it, as well as
the energy technology and applied approaches.

After the end of the program the participants are expected to make
business-plans and ensure financing, expand business by finding new
segments of market as well as develop and lead energy-efficiency
programs.

The training program will last until April 23. It is being carried
out by the Academy for Educational Development and USAID.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
