YEREVAN, 21.04.08. DE FACTO. The Karabakh issue is first of all
being settled here, in Artsakh, by strengthening the state and
tightening security. It is the only way to resist all challenges,
the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic PM Ara Harutyunian stated on April 19
in the course of a meeting with the RA FM Edvard Nalbandian.

"Artsakh Armenians are ready to continue struggle to achieve
national-state ideas with the same dedication", the head of the
Nagorno-Karabakh government underscored.

In connection with the current Nagorno-Karabakh talks the RA FM
noted the mediators’ efforts were targeted at determination of
Karabakh’s status and prevention from the war’s resumption. The
Minister assured the decisive word concerning Karabakh’s status
rested with the NKR people and Karabakh’s political future would
be determined only in case of free expression of Karabakh people’s
will. The head of Armenian MFA stated the talks should be continued
and one should hope for positive results. "An important place will
be given to international guarantees", he added. The RA FM promised
he would often visit Artsakh to jointly search for the ways of the
issue’s settlement, the NKR government’s press office reports.

To note, the RA FM Edvard Nalbandian arrived in Stepanakert on April
18 on a two-day visit. On the same day he met with the NKR President
Bako Sahakian. In the course of the meeting the parties discussed the
process and perspective of the Karabakh conflict settlement and issues
referring to rapprochement of cooperation between the RA and NKR MFAs.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
