GHARA KELISA DUE IN WORLD REGISTRATION

Ghara Church, near to Chaldoran city, is offered to UNESCO to be
registered in world list, Deputy head of West Azarbaijan’s Cultural
Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization said on Monday.
Asad Alizadeh told reporters that the church is one of the biggest
historical holy places in the world deserved to be listed in world
registration by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural
Organization (UNESCO).
Ghara Church (St. Tataous Cathedral) is the first Christian’s monument
and Tataous had been one of prophet Jesus’s evangelists.
Badarak rites are annually held at Ghara Church in summer attended
by foreign Armenians and the Armenians residing in Iran.
He said that natural events has caused damages to Ghara Church,
the historical monument, that was repeatedly repaired.
