President Sargsyan meets with Veterans of the Great Patriotic War

President Serzh Sargsyan today received members of members of the
Committee of Veterans and the Council of Veterans of the Great
Patriotic War. Addressing the veterans, the President said: `First, I
want to heartily congratulate you on the occasion of the Victory Day
and congratulate all those who participated in achieving that victory.
Of course, in such cases we first of all address those who struggled
against the evil and achieve victory for all of us.
"We have met many times, you know my opinion. I have always been saying
that if there wasn’t your example during the Great Patriotic War, the
example of our grandfathers, we would not manage to defend out
Motherland, defend our independence and territorial integrity in the
contemporary history. Thus, I’m very grateful to you for your service
and the work you have been doing after the war in educating, bringing
up the younger generation. Your personal example is very important in
their patriotic upbringing.’
The veterans discussed with the President a number of issues connected
with their social security. They stated that the attention and care for
the veterans has considerably increased over the past years. Serzh
Sargsyan assured that the remaining problems will also find solution
soon.
