ARMENIAN ENTREPRENEURS WILLING TO INTRODUCE NEW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES IN OWN BUSINESS

YEREVAN, May 14. /ARKA/. Armenian entrepreneurs are willing to
introduce new information technologies in own business, Chairman
of the Armenian Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (s) Arsen
Ghazaryan said on Wednesday.
DigiTec Business forum will be held in Armenia on June 26 and
27. The business forum will be focused on application of information
technologies in various business areas.
Ghazaryan stressed the importance of the business forum saying that
it will demonstrate advantages of information technologies.
"Entrepreneurs realize that economic development must be based on
increasing productivity and intensifying competition. The process must
run in high pace, otherwise we won’t be able to stand competition on
the world market", Ghazaryan said adding that widespread introduction
of information technologies in the economy is one of the ways ensuring
such a development.
He thins this will enhance management effectiveness and ensure
business transparency, global struggle against shady dealing, since
introduction of such technologies automatically make businessmen’s
activities transparent.
He also views IT introduction as part of the struggle against
corruption.
Ghazaryan said that e-government is a part of e-society.
He said it will rid economic entities of the necessity to communicate
with officials regularly and will reduce corruption.
"I think the forum will lay the groundwork for considerable progress
in IT application", Ghazaryan said.
DigiTec Business has been organized by Armenian Union of IT
Enterprises under the support from Armenian Government, Armenian
Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) and the Union of
Armenian Banks.
The forum has been sponsored by ARKA News Agency and Novosti-Armenia
International Information Agency.
