PRESIDENT SARGSYAN RECEIVED THE CHAIRMAN OF "GASPROM" COMPANY

President Serzh Sargsyan received the Chairman of the "Gasprom"
company, Alexei Miller.

Welcoming the guest, the President of Armenia said that in the
person of the "Gasprom" Armenia has a reliable and promising
partner. S. Sargsyan expressed confidence that the cooperation will
continue to develop successfully, acquiring new dimensions.

The sides mentioned with satisfaction that in recent years the
"Hayrusgazard" company has been rather efficient, the figures are
impressive and the very fact that the company has increased the volume
of gas consumption speaks not only about the company’s growth but also
proves the stable growth of the Armenian economy as a whole. Among
other achievements was mentioned the recent increase in gas consumption
by the population of Armenia. According to the President, as a result
of a large-scale gasification of the country, today Armenia is among
the countries with the highest level of gas consumption.

The parties spoke also about the gas tariffs and price making. Alexei
Miller informed that starting from 2011 the "Gasprom" plans to
introduce same tariffs for the internal consumption as well as for
the exported gas.

The sides agreed until 2011 to introduce all the changes in gas
tariffs step by step, taking into consideration that "Gasprom"
holds 72 per cent of the "Hayrusgazard" company, as well as the
necessity to make the entire process predictable and affordable for
the Armenian consumers.

At the meeting the sides spoke also about the negotiations regarding
the construction of an oil refinery, as well as other investment
programs implemented by the "Gasprom" in the energy system of Armenia.
