GNEL TOVMASIAN SUSPECTED OF DISTRIBUTING FLAMMABLE LIQUID TO MASS DISORDER PARTICIPANTS ARRESTED

YEREVAN, MAY 21, MOYAN TAPAN. Gnel Tovmasian was arrested on May 20
under the criminal case opened in connection with the March 1 events
in Yerevan.

NT correspondent was informed by the RA prosecutor general’s office
that he is suspected of organizing and instigating the March 1 mass
disorder in Yerevan, that is, of distributing bottled flammable liquid,
in particular, gasoline to mass disorder participants. According to
the same source, the bottles filled with gasoline were used to burn
cars in the area adjacent to Yerevan municipality and to inflict
bodily injuries on police troops.
