Armenian foreign minister to pay first visit to Moscow
MOSCOW, May 29 (RIA Novosti) – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandian will arrive on his first official visit to Russia on
Thursday, a spokesman for Russia’s Foreign Ministry said.
During the three-day visit, Nalbandian is scheduled to meet with his
Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, to discuss future cooperation in
"maintaining security and stability in the South Caucasus" and the
situation surrounding Nagorny Karabakh, Andrei Nesterenko said.
The ministers will also discuss joint approaches to improving
coordination in foreign policy between Moscow and Yerevan in line with
the CIS and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, as well as
the UN, the Council of Europe and the OSCE.
The Armenian foreign minister is also expected to meet with the head
of the State Duma committee on CIS affairs, Alexei Ostrovsky, and CSTO
General Secretary Nikolai Bordyuzha.
