EVENTS DEDICATED TO 90th ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA TAKE PLACE IN ROMANIA

BUCHAREST, JUNE 2, NOYAN TAPAN. Events dedicated to the 90th
anniversary of the May heroic battles and the First Republic of
Armenia took place in Romania, NT was informed by the RA MFA Press
and Information Department.

A holy liturgy was celebrated in the Armenian church of Bucharest on
May 25.

An exhibition displaying photos of the leaders of the First Republic
and the commanders of the 1918 heroic battles opened in the hall of
George Cosbuc National College on May 29 with the participation of
the Armenian ambassador to Romania Yeghishe Sargsian and the college
director Ilinca Buciu.

Speeches were made by Y. Sargsian, the secretary general of the
Armenian Union of Romania Perch Margarian, the editor-in-chief of
"Ararat" and "Nor Kyank" (New Life) newspapers Mikael Stepan-Gazazian
and Armenologist Francesca Baltaceanu. The head of the Romanian
diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Tirayr Martikian
also attended the opening ceremony.

An event to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the May heroic battles
and the First Republic was held at the club of the Armenian Union of
Romania on May 30.
