A. ISKANDARYAN: -1609 ARTICLE – POLITICAL ACT-

-To me it is not real that if the 1609 article is not
implemented Armenia will be deprived from its right of
voice in the Council of Europe,- said politician
Alexander Iskandaryan in a meeting with the
journalists today.

According to him there is no strong point in the
article forcing to conduct the recommendations. -The
article just directs us to the road of development.
And as for the opposition it states that they should
accept the legitimism of authorities. It is quite
obvious that the opposition ignores this point,- said
the politician and added that the current article and
other articles also are a part of political activities
and serious changes should not be expected.

A. Iskandaryan has also talked about the meeting of
the president of Armenia and Azerbaijan. He said that
we should not expect serious results from this
meeting. -This is another ordinary political act which
is done by all the countries. Here many countries meet
and discuss different issues,- said the politician.
