BAKU: US Congress To Hold Hearings On Current Situation In South Cau

US CONGRESS TO HOLD HEARINGS ON CURRENT SITUATION IN SOUTH CAUCASUS

Washington. Husniyya Hasanova-APA. US Congress House of Representatives will hold hearings on the recent processes in the South Caucasus on June 18.

APA’s US bureau reports that Assistant Secretary for European and
Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried will answer the questions of the
foreign affairs committee members about the ongoing processes in
the South Caucasus, Georgian-Abkhazian conflict and recent progress
concerning Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Marie Yovanovitch’s appointment
as ambassador to Armenia will be discussed in the Senate committee
on foreign relations a day later. Armenian National Committee of
America stated that blockade of Armenia by Azerbaijan and Turkey,
peaceful solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict will be in the focus
of attention. In the previous hearings Richard Hoagland, candidate to
the post of ambassador, openly denied the so-called Armenian genocide.
