CO- RAPPORTEURS TO ARRIVE IN ARMENIA

Jorge Columbier and John Prescott, PACE co-rapporteurs on the
compliance of Armenia with its commitments, will arrive in our country
on June 16-17. The purpose of the visit is to assess the implementation
of PACE Resolution # 1609 concerning the activities of the democratic
institutions in Armenia.

During their visit, the co-rapporteurs will meet with President Serge
Sargsyan, NA Speaker Tigran Torosyan, representatives of the political
parties involved in the ruling coalition, as well as the
representatives of the extra-parliamentary opposition including L.
Ter-Petrosyan, the working group established under the President for
coordinating the implementation of the PACE Resolution, the
parliamentary working group elaborating the reforms of the Electoral
Code, the defense lawyers of the arrested pro-opposition activists and
the representatives public organizations.
