VAN BAYBURD APPOINTED ADVISER OF PRESIDENT OF GEORGIA

Van Bayburd, a former MP of the Parliament of Georgia, has been
appointed Adviser of the President of Georgia by the decree of Mikhail
Saakashvili,
As "Azatutiun" reports, Van Bayburd expressed an opinion that he will,
in all probability, see to the issues concerning the national
minorities of Georgia and the problems concerning the regional
relations of the South Caucasus on his new post.
Three Armenian deputies have entered the parliament of the new
convocation of Georgia. Henzel Mkoyan from Ninotsminda has been elected
for the third time by majoritarian system, and Haroutiun Hovhannisian
has been elected from Akhalkalak. And Armen Bayandurian, the Artistic
Head of the Armenian Theatre of Tbilisi, has been elected deputy by
proportional system.
