YEREVAN, JUNE 13, NOYAN TAPAN. At present there is no need to hold
special elections in Armenia. RA National Assembly Vice-Speaker Hrayr
Karapetian stated at the June 13 press conference adding that there
will always be some political forces that will be discontent with the
elections’ results. "Instead of complaining and making a claim of
holding special elections they should get ready for the next
elections," he said.
Touching upon the activity of the ad hoc parliamentary commission on
investigation of the March 1 events, he expressed the hope that the
commission will do its best for no one to be convicted by political
motivations. And according to the NA Vice-Speaker, there is a necessity
to create a Public Council in Armenia, as it will give society a
possibility to present its viewpoints.
Touching upon the expression of former ARFD member, freedom-fighter
Zhirayr Sefilian released from arest lately that "Dashnaktsutiun needs
treatment" he said that "it is not good when a freedom-fighter is
engaged in politics." "He is a good freedom-fighter, but it is not good
when he considers himself higher than the party that nourished him," H.
Karapetian said.
