The resignation of Henrik Abrahamyan has served as grounds for some
people to re-circulate the hypothesis on the unsolvable controversies
between the `old and new’ wing of the Republican Party. Are such rumors
substantiated?

In response to this question of `Hayots Ashkharh’, ARTAK DAVTYAN
mentioned, `There are no `sharp controversies’ inside the Republican
Party of Armenia, and there have never been any. It’s quite a different
matter that the `Republican’ is the biggest political faction, and
naturally, different people may have different views on different
issues. That’s why there is an executive body which makes decisions
combining such views.

As regards the further possible developments related to the resignation
of the MP, the deadline for the nomination of the candidates is June
19, and very soon, we will have the answers to all the questions.’

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
