Armenian Foreign Minister Met In Brussels With Javier Solana And Kar

ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER MET IN BRUSSELS WITH JAVIER SOLANA AND KAREL DE GUCHT

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian who is in Brussels on a
working visit met today with the European Union High Representative
for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) Javier Solana.

Armenian Foreign Ministry press service told Armenpress that during
the meeting the interlocutors discussed Armenia’s and EU’s cooperation,
pace of implementation of the European Neighborhood Policy Action Plan,
post-electoral developments in Armenia, as well as issues connected
with the regional security.

Armenian foreign minister reconfirmed the determination of the Armenian
authorities to continue reforms towards consolidation of democracy
in the country.

E. Nalbandian also presented to Javier Solana the current situation
over Nagorno Karabakh conflict regulation process and the results
of the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in Saint
Petersburg.

They also referred to the issues on regional security and stability.

On the same day Nalbandian conducted meeting with his Belgian
counterpart Karel de Gucht. During the meeting the sides positively
assessed the dynamically developing cooperation between the two
countries.

Minister Nalbandian said he is pleased with the active trade ties
established between the two countries and noted that there exists
serious potential for their expansion.

They also noted about the importance of activating the political
dialogue. The sides also effectively assessed the cooperation within
international organizations.
