Recently, L. Ter-Petrosyan’s office has been carrying out active
work for organizing and holding the June 20 demonstration. Manoushak
Petrosyan, former Chair of "Armenia" Pan-Armenian Foundation, has
assumed an active role not only in those preparations but also in
L. Ter-Petrosyan’s office in general.
According to reliable sources, during the whole period of
L. Ter-Petrosyan’s pre-election campaign, Manoushak Petrosyan was in
charge of the large-scale expenses of the "boss", and in some cases
those sums were given to the Heads of the campaign headquarters in
return for ‘rejuvenating’ compliments.
Here is the lady who spares no effort to look younger and has serious
psychological problems in that regard. And L. Ter-Petrosyan not only
entrusted this lady with the task of maintaining the financial records
of the office but also authorized her to act as his representative
in the Central Election Commission.
What’s more, L. Ter-Petrosyan still continues to "tie" M. Petrosyan
on his team, making the latter "respect" the lady. But it’s no
use. Ter-Petrosyan’s closest people are already on edge.
According to the information obtained from Mr. Ter-Petrosyan’s office
and his closest circles, M. Petrosyan creates a tense atmosphere
in the office almost every day, coming into big and small conflicts
with his team members. These people have directly made it clear to
M. Petrosyan that she prevents them from working. At the same time,
they do not take the liberty of informing Mr. Ter-Petrosyan about it.
Let’s note that M. Petrosyan has been close with L. Ter-Petrosyan
since the years they worked together in the Matenadaran. Moreover,
as some bitter tongues insist, they were not merely colleagues.
Little by little, the intimacy developed into a mutually beneficial
cooperation. After L. Ter-Petrosyan’s becoming a President,
Ms. Petrosyan was appointed as the Chair of "Armenia" Pan-Armenian
Foundation. Well-informed people insist that during those years
the foundation worked with the Government based on the principle of
the 50:50 proportion. Half (sometimes even more than half) of the
sums remitted to the foundation were transferred to L. Ter-Petrosyan
through the shadow "cashier" or debited to Ms. Petrosyan’s personal
accounts in foreign banks.
All this was known to Mr. Artashes Petrosyan, M. Petrosyan’s
husband. It should be noted that apart from the circulating rumors
and other financial sources, Ter-Petrosyan’s office also receives
funding from those accounts. It’s not accidental that the financial
capitals of the office are controlled by M. Petrosyan personally.
Some time in the past, L. Ter-Petrosyan appointed Artashes Petrosyan
as the Minister of Education and Science, meeting Manoushak Petrosyan’s
numerous requests half-way. This was followed by certain controversies
between L. Ter-Petrosyan and NA Speaker Babken Ararktsyan. The latter
was dissatisfied with the fact that L. Ter-Petrosyan made Manoushak a
present, by appointing her husband as the Minister of Education and
Science. To avoid further troubles L. Ter-Petrosyan had to remove
Artashes Petrosyan from office.
By the way, M. Petrosyan has also successfully solved the problems
of her two children. Her son Vahe Petrosyan and her daughter Lilit
Petrosyan have been living and studying in the United States for
already two years, and Ms. Petrosyan pays USD 57-58 thousand annually
for their tuition. Where does this money come from?
According to available information, M. Petrosyan had business
connections (and not only) with certain influential figures while
being the Chair of "Armenia" Pan-Armenian Foundation, concluded
certain transactions with them and was engaged in sharing money,
L. Ter-Petrosyan standing behind her back.
And those sums "work" and bring interests, enabling M. Petrosyan to
have an influential role in L. Ter-Petrosyan’s team.
