A Supreme Council on implementation of a new culture of tax and customs
administration has been created in Armenia. The Council will function
under RA prime minister, Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sarkisyan
said at today’s briefing in Yerevan.
He said that coordination of works for reformation of the tax and
customs administration and control of this process will become
the Supreme Council’s primary goal. As T. Sarkisyan emphasized, a
conference was held with RA president 20 days ago with participation
of representatives of a big, middle and small business, during which
the issue of the tax and customs administration was discussed. As
T. Sarkisyan said, "the interests of the state and business must
coincide, that requires creation of conditions for quick development
of business activities. By the president’s instruction, a complex
programme for improvement of the tax and customs administration
has been developed, the main provisions of which have already been
submitted to the public’s approval. The programme was also highly
assessed by international organizations ", PM said and added that
a monitoring group has been created under the Supreme Council. The
business representatives will be enabled to submit their remarks
and proposals, which will become a subject of discussions at the
Supreme Council sessions, by "hot line" phone numbers or by e-mail
addresses. Thus, an inter-communication with the public will be
created to enable the latter to get efficiently acquainted with the
programme implementation.
