RA FM MEETS EU COMMISSIONER FOR FOREIGN RELATIONS AND EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICY

ArmInfo. Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan, being in
Brussels with an official visit, met EU Commissioner for Foreign
Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner
on June 18.
As RA FM press service told ArmInfo, the parties positively assessed
the process of implementation of the projects within the frames of
the "New European Neighbourhood Policy" Programme, as well as the
prospect of more efficient cooperation within the frames of this
programme. E. Nalbandyan confirmed Armenia’s readiness to take further
steps for rapprochement with Europe. RA FM expressed gratitude for
EU assistance to Armenia in implementation of reforms. The parties
also touched upon the format of Armenia-EU political dialogue
and fulfillment of bilateral programmes in different spheres. The
minister Nalbandyan and EU Commissioner also discussed development
of the situation in the South Caucasus region. RA FM introduced the
current stage of Nagorno Karabakh peaceful settlement process.
