ARMENIAN CB TO FOCUS ON PROTECTION OF RIGHTS OF USERS OF SERVICES

YEREVAN, June 23. /ARKA/. The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) plans to
focus attention on the protection of rights of users of financial
services. The CBA intends to implement large-scale measures, CBA
Chairman Artur Javadyan told reporters.

"We will compile special reference guides and brochures to inform users
of their rights and duties," Javadyan stated at an annual meeting of
the Union of Banks of Armenia.

According to him, the CBA plans to elaborate and introduce effective
mechanisms of considering customers’ complaints. Special attention
will be paid to raising customers’ financial awareness," he said.

Javadyan pointed out that the CBA involves various consumer protection
NGOs.

In this context, Head of the Association of Consumers of Armenia Armen
Poghosyan stressed the importance of considering consumers’ complaints.

He said that this must be a trilateral process.

"Clients and representatives of banks and of consumer protection
organizations must be involved in the process," Poghosyan said.
