ArmInfo. The Armenian delegation did not object to the inclusion of
the debates on Armenia in the agenda of the PACE summer session as
it has nothing to hide, the head of the Armenian delegation to PACE
David Haroutyunyan said in a talk with an ArmInfo correspondent.

"We do not object to the discussion. We want PACE to assess our work
and priorities," Haroutyunyan said.

As regards the report on Armenia to be presented at PACE on June 25,
Haroutyunyan said that it contained quite harsh assessments. "It is
a bit early to speak about the report as it has not yet been made
open to the public. Tomorrow morning it will be made public and we
will be able to discuss its wordings," Haroutyunyan said.

To note, the issue of holding urgent debates on Armenia caused no
objections of the participants in PACE’s plenary session. Thus, the
issue was automatically included in the agenda of the Assembly’s
agenda avoiding thereby the procedure of voting and necessity of
obtaining two-thirds of votes.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
