Strasbourg. Fuad Gulubeyli-APA. British parliamentarian Edward O’Hara,
Rapporteur of PACE Committee on Culture, Education and Science on the
cultural heritage of the South Caucasus gave up his scheduled visit
to Azerbaijan and Armenia aiming to learn conditions of material and
cultural monuments in the region, the Committee sources told APA.

PACE Committee on Culture, Education and Science made this decision
on June 25. Chairperson of the Committee and Luxemburg parliamentarian
Anne Brasseur sent a special letter to PACE President and requested him
to keep this issue on agenda during his visit to Baku next week. It
was said in the letter that if they received an invitation in future
there would be no problem for its realization. The visit of Edward
O’Hara’s mission to the region is postponed for the different reasons
for three years. The British parliamentarian relates the postponing
of his visit with the political problems.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
